Starter fix
My starter was staying engaged on my 97 4.6 ltr, I read the many threads on this subject and decided to start with the ignition, well that wasn't the problem, so next I checked the Starter solenoid and bingo.... dirt and grunge had caused the plunger to stay extended. I cleaned everything up and sanded the plunger smooth and slapped it back together. works fine now, just thought this might help someone out who's having the same problem.
