I cut and welded the rod coming out of a 79 f100 donor booster to fit a 66 f100 recipient. I welded a threaded female piece to the 79 booster rod so I could use a threaded eye at the end -- the ability to adjustment is a beautiful thing.
I love the idea of an adjustable rod but I still don't know if the rod can somehow be removed from the booster or if the rod is cut and welded while still in the booster?
I cut and welded it while it was still in the booster -- did not disassemble. That was a year ago and have had no problems with the booster so the heat did not hurt the diaphragm inside the booster.
