Are you sure that it is actually warming up. My ranger for YEARS did not come up off of cold. I changed the thermostat and everything. Finally, a year later, it goes up to the N in normal.
I would say make sure it's actually warming up. Remember to not trust Ford's gauges, and when all else fails, but an aftermarket one!
I agree. Just be careful that you have the correct sending unit. The temp sending unit for the gauge has a single wire connector, the PCM temp sending unit has a 2 wire sending unit.

i have a 97 ranger 4cylinder i am having trouble getting a socket or wrench on the temprature sending unit help. i know the unit is bad i just cant get it off help
