Tachometer and Temperature gage

My tachometer and Temperature gage isnt working right now. My speedo and gas gage and everything works, the only thing thats not functioning is the tachometer and the temperature gage. I have looked at the fuses and none of them are blown. Only thing i can think of is maybe a bad thermostat or a bad ground. But i figured the entire gage cluster was on the same circuit which is why i couldnt understand that the speedo worked and not the tach. Thanks in advance

My book shows all of the gauges are powered by the same fuse so I would suspect a problem with the cluster.

I'm sure someone will have a better idea but documenting the mileage on the replacement when it's install and the actual mileage.

you lost me man, i'm not understanding how rolling the dial back by hand would take 3 months. Can you not just turn the numbers with your finger?

If things are like the early 90 Ranger clones, you could swap speedo sections....Mine worked like a charm.

I would have to agree with AlfredB1979. Get a -working- replacement cluster (or check your wiring connector on the one in place as well as the cluster itself and sending units) and at worst case scenario if it is the cluster, just swap the speedometers. I did that very thing on my '86 Ranger when I went from gage / idiot light setup to the 4-gage setup. I ended up going with a Sun mini tach instead of using a 'stock' tach and adding oil pressure and ammeter / volt gages. *shrug*
