brake drum removal

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 20-Jul-02 AT 07:10 PM (EST)]If I remember correctly, you have to pull the axles in order to remove the drum. Things are a little foggy. It's not a hard job, just time consuming.

You need to pull the axles, then you may need to back off the adjusters to loosen the brake shoes back from the drums

Remove tire (don't engage the parking brake), back off the star wheels all the way, give the drum a few good blows with a hammer & pry it off. Sometimes they can be very stubburn to remove.
