Is there any trick on getting off the front and rear brake drums on my f-4 ?..... once the screws are removed in the back does the drum just come off? ....and how about the front ones?
First off, check to see if the drums still have the screws into the hub. Second, on the back there are cam adjusters that need to be turned to back the shoes away from the drums. If you made sure those are taken care of, you might have to just beat on them a bit.
It's been a few years since I did the brakes on Edith, and I lost several thousand pictures when a hard drive crashed. If I remember correctly, you have to remove the front hubs and drums together, as they are bolted together from the back. On the rear drums, there are 3 flathead screws on the face of the drum screwed into the hub. The cams on the rear of the backing plates turn inward to back the shoes off.
