remote keyless does not open door

i have 02 ford explorer sport. keyless remote does not open door. when using key the alarm goes off. does not go off when putting in ignition. doed not go off if you push door remote door opener. any ideas, considering maybe battery in remote.. thanks guys. jim

Battery is the first thing I would try.
