I've heard several times that "so and so" would start making it but to my knowledge no one ever has. Many of us would like to get the parts. I suspect they are hard to produce.

No, I give up. Going to have the body shop clean up and repaint the black strip on the old stuff. Too bad considering what I figured out I have into the paint and everything that I replaced is close to $10000. Oh well I will replace it when new stuff is available.

 

Make sure they use semi-gloss.

Thanks for the tip, I got it for 33 bucks delivered, that is the only piece of molding I needed for my truck.
I just got a fender I bought off of Ebay, no dents no rust and even the right color, for 82 bucks delivered!
Now all my truck needs is a new paint job, motor, transmission, steering column, vacuum booster, tires, etc:-)
I'm bringing her back from the edge, hence the name;-)

 

I dont know if you have checked them out but www.paddockparts.com has the racetrack moulding listed and their number is 1-800-428-4319
I know because I have their catalog and its listed on page 47, and it labeled and shows the racetrack moulding.

 

upper or lower ?

 

In the catalog it has a diagram Im not sure I think its the upper ,but it also shows lower peices to that go around the wheel wells and along the bottom of the truck,I guess you would have to call and ask them. The part numbers I see listed tough are I think they are for the bed.

That is the upper moulding for 6.5 ft boxes and 8 ft boxes.

Although the center area of the lower moulding has black in it ....it isn't an insert

Have you seen the picture of the moulding to know what we are talking about ?

Click the link in post 14 and see the chrome loulding with the painted black track inside of it that starts where it meets the other racetrack moulding at the side marker light on the box then follows the contour of the wheelwells to the front of the box.

This moulding in question is what seperates the two colours of the truck.

 

NO ONE CARRIES THE LOWER molding. That is a fact. Dennis Capenter will have it if anybody does.


The tooling equipement is still around but they will not reproduce it.....
