I JUST had the same thing happen, Ivan! Went to snap down my vanilla protein shake yesterday morning before work (work at 5am, ugh), and I noticed it didn't taste *quite* so good. Stopped...opened the milk and Bam! smell was bad.
Seems I have a bit more of an iron gut, I was fine. OR maybe yours was just rediculously out of date.
Sour milk - BAD, Buttermilk -GOOD. When I was a boy (before the big war), there were two dairies that had stores in town. One had an item they called Bulgarian Buttermilk which you could buy by the glass or bottle. It was thicker than a milkshake and was served very cold. I used to enjoy the milk and the white mustache it left. Now, alas, I have a white mustache, but buttermilk like that is not available.
Dono
Buttermilk actually got my act together more times than I like to admit.
I was at the end of a 100 mile bike ride one night and a quart of it was all that got me home....
(Some 7/11 in the middle of Mission Valley was where I finally bonked hard core)
I don't remember what bike I was on at the time - I think it was a highly modified Nishiki. I had ten more mile to go, and I felt like I was CRUSHED at the time. Twenty minutes later I was back in the saddle.

So I start my daily ritual with a protein shake......makes my mouth start twitching.... here I sit with a bad taste in my mouth and a stomach making funny noises.
I don't know why but this makes me think of the rainbow avatar you recently had
