Boy, you have an '06 and are wanting to trade for another '06? Hate to sound like a woman, but man you should've done your homework.
Anyway, I would support your decision mostly because what you don't make up in fuel economy, you will make up in Trade Value in 6 or 7 years. A gasser with 140,000 miles on it will be worth about $4 or $5k, however a diesel with even 140,000 miles is going to be worth near $10k

I sold my '97 F250 because of the mileage issues. Don't get me wrong, the truck was good to me and still is good for its new owner with over 210k on the clock. The 12-14 MPG gets to be a downer. My 2004 PSD gets around 16-17 MPG in all around driving. I installed a Banks exhaust and have a Diablosport programmer that makes great power without killing fuel mileage.
Granted, it is real easy to enjoy all the power. The sobering fact is when you drive up to the pump.
