Alternator Identification

I am trying to identify what amperage alternator is installed in my truck. Any idea would be great

1989 F250 with a 7.3 diesel
The alternator has an external regulator, 3 wires are mounted on the side, (2 in a connector, and 1 with a heavier gauge wire to a bolt). Alternator appears stock.

The reason I ask is that I am thinking of upgrading to provide more charging capablity and possibly getting rid of the external regulator.

I went to www.partsamerica.com and plugged in your truck. Most of them are 60-75 amp units except the ambulance units. They have pictures if you want to go there and try to match up exactly what you have.

From the Ford Manual:

Alternator is color-ink stamped with "Motorcraft" Trademark. Color stamp is coded for rated amperage output.

Rated amperage is:

[rated @ 15V]
Orange: 40 (Engine RPM:2900)
Green: 60 (Engine RPM:2900)
Black: 70 (Engine RPM:1640)
Red: 100 (Engine RPM:2900) (Rated cold output)

Franklin will know what that all means more than me - lol

I have a 60 so I think I will try for one of the 130 - 160 Amp from the internet, any recommendations
