Are you talking about unlocking them from the inside or the outside?
I find that unlocking the driver's door on my '97 from the outside is a bit tricky. I don't really notice unless I drive someone else's car for a few days and then go back to the Ranger.
If you have a spare key, try that. Sometimes they get worn out...

I am talking about unlocking the doors from the outside. YES I did get a new key made and it still gaves me the problems.
There are graphite lubes you can put in door locks.
I've never used one on a vehicle, but at work once, we had a utility closet where the lock wouldn't turn at all. Sprayed in a little bit of aerosol lock lube with graphite (tiny little spray can), and 20 minutes later, it worked like new. I'd imagine you could find it in any hardware store or Home Depot.
Graphite is very messy, though, and I believe that some of the graphite lock lubes you can buy, you have to be careful how much you put in, or the excess graphite will actually jamb up the lock and make it worse.
Yeah, at the hardware store i used to work at we had to lock our dumpsters, and finally they got to the point they wouldnt turn anymore from the weather, put some of that graphite lube in there and it worked like new, and yes, too much will mess up the lock. My drivers side door on our ranger works kind of funny too from the outside, and so does my 89 d***e shadow. Must be getting a little worn out.
actually that is another great option. On my ranger with manual windows/locks, I installed some power locks from a kit off the internet. It came with a module so if you lock/unlock the drivers side door by either pushing the **** down or using your key, it will do the same to the passenger door, so like say if you and your friend are approaching your locked truck, he's waiting by the passenger door, as soon as you turn your key to unlock the drivers door, the passenger one will automatically pop up. Also you can hook up a remote start kit to it or just a keyless entry kit and have keyless entry too. Worked pretty sweet.
