i recently had mine changed on the pumpkin . after 3 wks the abs light statred coming on again . is there also a sensor in the front wheel bearing or did i get a bad part
I still have a question: 1995 E150 Club Wagon with a ton of miles there is a VSS/ABS sensor on top of the differential housing which I have changed Motorcraft F85Z9E731AB and there is a second VSS for the same truck Motorcraft E9LF9E731AA which looks like it goes on the transmission somewhere. Haven't had the beast on the rack for a while but does anyone know where the 731AA sensor is located?
There are two "speed sensors" on the top of the transmission. One monitors the output shaft speed, the other is for the input from the torque converter.
Though I don't have a part number reference handy, you most likely want the rear one.
Check up on the top of the trans by following the wiring harness.
Had occasional abs light, not speedo. Removed VSS, cleaned it (didn't really need it). Every time I disconnected the wires, a little water dripped out from taped joint. Finally, the speedo quit and ABS light on all the time. Got new VSS and replaced, taped connection wiring (after drying). No solution. Now what?
Is there any other possible cause (i.e. GEM, ABS module, etc). Can the ABS light be reset to get speedo back?
