Can anyone tell me if there is a company out there that makes the rubber bushings between the body and frame on a 1965 Ford Galaxie 500. I'm starting to restore the car and had to take it off the frame to fix the frame the bushings were shot, Also is there a primer that you can apply over rusty metal, and is also a self etching primer?

Hey Bode, welcome to FTE.

Not sure if we're talking about the same thing, but we just bought a 24" roll of body mounting rubber from 4wd dot com for $27 plus shipping. You cut as much as you want. It's part #5000.

For the rusty metal, are you planning on sandblasting or anything like that? If not, knock/scrape off all the heavy rust and sand off as much of the lighter rust as you can. Next, spray the metal with something like Ospho or Metal Ready (phospheric acids) then primer/paint.

Thats just a quick step-by to get you started. If you do a search of this forum, you'll find tons of information on covering and/or doing away with rust.
