Has any one here successfully turned one our beloved slicks into an exteded cab truck that actually looks like it came from the factory? I have been kicking this idea around in my head and thought I would check with more knowledgable people. Without major metal fab tools I figure it would be extremely difficult but possible with 2 extra sets of doors to get the window opening right. This is not something I'm sure I want to attempt, I just wanted to see what other think. Personally I think it would look great.
Kris
There is a guy in Redmond OR, That did it and it looked stock. It was very cool looking. He did it out of his own garage and it took him a long time. But for him it was worth it.
DENDYR...was the truck in Redmond Red? I saw one in Redmond and then soon after in Lapine. It was a 66 and a beautiful shade of red. LUST with a capital L.
I am sure I saw one at the Run to The Rock show at Lake Lure a few years back. It should have been at the Nationals also since it would be that close.
Think I heard someone say that he had to use three cabs to make it work. I'll have to check an old computer to see if I took and loaded any pictures of it.
Pics would be great, I have seen a long bed uni-body that was not executed very well, not that I could do better, if I had pics I could better picture the work ahead of me.
Thanks, Kris
Kris, I am surprised no one else has chimed in about seeing it at the Run To The Rock show. I also know that a lot of Tenn. folks show there and can't imagine it wasn't at the Nationals since it is maybe a hundred miles away.
I haven't run across any photos yet. There is a cat digitrucker that had one of my shows photos up on his site. If you can find it the truck could be in there. Don't know for sure.
