I need help installing a back-up camera.. I searched the forum and the only reference is a Blk/PK wire. I found a wire with this color under the dash but it does not have power when in reverse.
Does anyone know if the 1999 has a different color reverse wire and where it is. Also, which wire is good to use for a switched power source?
The black with pink tracer is the wire, but you have to pick it up after the the digital selector switch on the Transmission.
Or if you have a trailer towing pkg ,you can pick it up at the trailer tow relay under the hood.Driverside relay box.

For anyone else adding the back-up cam. Both wires are in the same bundle running to the trailer relay under the hood. Blk/Pk for reverse, White/Violet for switched power. There is an existing ground point in the same area. Pulling both from this area leaves only one wire to go through to the inside of the truck, the wire to connect the monitor. All other wires are run underneath.
This works great and for $99 at Pep Boys you can't go wrong.
