Whats up everybody. I want to install a backup camera in my 03 Explorer, but I can't find anything on the colors of the reverse wire power and ground. I have one of those rear view mirrors with the 4.3 inch screen in it so I need to find the correct wires for both the front and back of the truck so I can get power to the mirror and camera. Anybody know the colors? And does anybody know location of the power/ground wires that I need to use in the front of the truck?
You can access the wiring diagrams at this site which at least identifies the reverse power wires for the tail lights. If your Explorer already has an auto-dimming rearview mirror, there is already reverse-only power at the mirror connector.
I would certainly recommend confirming the correct wires with a test light or multimeter though.
I have no reverse lights on a flat bed and can't find the wire.. thought I saw something about trying to trace black with pink wire after switch on transmission...??
What truck is your flat bed based off of? I assume not an Explorer.... You could likely trace a wire from your Transmission Range Sensor but I'm not sure how standard the wires colors are across models so I'd want to know what the base vehicle is to provide the correct wire color.

it's an f350 dually with 7.34x4.. thanks in advance! I checked the#28 fuse under hood, and it's airways hot, so I can't wire this back up alarm to it for work🤦🤦
I checked your profile and it appears it's a 1990. That's older than my service manuals for trucks go back to (1992) but it does appear like maybe Ford used a common wire color for the Reverse lights from the Transmission Range Switch (TRS). It appears the reverse wire is typically a Black/Pink Tracer wire after looking at a 1990 Ford Tempo diagram that I have from a different wiring diagram source. That would be pretty easy to checkout with a test lead or multimeter.
Does your flatbed have a trailer wiring adapter? If so, there should be a reverse lead at the 7-pin trailer adapter as well that you could wire into.

It's a 2000... i have 4 trucks, sorry.. all of the wiring was cut up when a guy wired the lights, and I can't find a reverse, but the blue 12ga has constant power🤦🤦idk what I'm doing😁😁🤌🤘
Well, according to the wiring diagram, the 2000 F350 backup light wire is also Black/Pink and should be located on the left side of the transmission (driver's side) at the Transmission Range Sensor, or after the Back-up Lamp Switch on the top of the transmission if it's a manual transmission truck. If the wiring hasn't been all hacked up, it should run to the left rear of the vehicle, near the left rear taillight, and still be Black/Pink in that wiring harness.
So sorry...... you guys would never believe what's gone on...... hell in a handbasket... got the old 7.3 going good, lost my clutch in nm..stayed covered up, decided to get a new truck..... bed from white truck went on a cab and chassis and equipment and I took off, looking like a million bucks... I'm in Tulsa on first job in New truck, my grandpa dies in Tucson, so I leave and half way through new Mexico was run over by a semi.....🫣🫣🤣🤣🤣🤣😥

never took the time to look for the wire, but a buddy needs a truck, so I'll be more diligent now, especially since I ruined the bed that was on it and now I can see all of the trucks goodies)))
Oh my! I'm sorry to hear about the loss of your father and your truck. I hope you and everyone involved with the collision are okay.
