If I didn't have those forged pistons, the results would have probably been far worse. And if I had to guess, I'd say your stock rod bolts will go first, assuming you dont get valve float.
I have already did that about 5 times so far, next time i tear it apart, it will get new pushrods regardless. Don't get me wrong I wanted new rod bolts, but money was low as always.

Beemer, The DSC adjustable rods are to long to run with dove rockers. They adjust so close to the rocker that 3 of them dug into my rockers and cracked and broke the bell end. I never did get a hold of Dennis so I just ordered Crane push rods and installed them and they are shorter and do not hit my rockers

Years ago there were few choices, what looked good 19 years ago was FPP rockers and pushrods. As a group we ordered 5 sets and 4 are still running with out a bit of trouble and the 5th is going into a 454 FE Cobra project. Pushrod length not a problem on all 5 builds, combined miles over 2,000,000miles, i'm over 600K and counting says it all about FPP products.

I haven't yet. I'll know when the heads are on and I walk outside with an intake. I guess whatever mood I'm in the day I put it together.

One of my brothers is telling me single plane, it seems like it's going either way here, and my gut has no clue at the moment. On one hand, the single plane looks like the ports would match up better to my heads, but on the other hand, I dont want to lose any more low end torque or make the mileage get worse. But the Performer RPM looks like it has the bigger ports.

I have a feeling this will be one of those things where I wont know for sure until it's bolted on the truck.
