I was towing my fiver monday my abs light came on for about 20 miles. Brakes worked fine have a date with my dealer friday. What could have caused this?
My abs light did the same thing. There was some type of sending unit that was corroded. I think it was hooked up to the rear end. I can't exactly remember. It happened last summer
The Vss sensor on the rear diff usually gets covered with junk or grayish metalic particles.
Change it or clean it if it is covered in junk, and you do alot of towing I'd do a fluid change.

Yeah there is a speed sensor on the differntial. About the size of a walnut and the only thing as far as I have seen that has wires on it and is sitting on the diff. Easy to change and costs something like $12 for parts, dealer charges something like $60. I have read that when it fails it sometimes sheds particles in the diff so the fluid should be changed if that happens.
When the sensor is real bad, the speedo will jump and the cruise control will start to shut off.
I also think I have seen an ABS light come on when I accidentally disconnected a vacuum line to the AC housing against the fender/firewall on my 94. I could be mistaken since it was quite awhile ago.
