I have pulled vehicles from the swaybars before, just have to be careful not to rip the stupid thing off. Who needs a damn swaybar anyway, I don't have em on my rig! More flexy that way
well the tow straps work so much better for getting you unstuck kinda like a rubber band they will just ****** you out were a chain just jerks things I just don't understand why people still do that. For attaching points you can buy what they use to tie vehicles down on the transport rigs that looks kinda like a T on one end and has a hook for a chain on the other side these go into the oblong shaped hole in the frame then turn 90 deg to lock in so your actually pulling directly on the frame. And all vehicles have those in the frames even tractors have them (atleast john deere's do because they make you use these hooks when you haul the tractors out of the factory and won't let you hook to any other place on the tractor) If those are strong enough to legally hold a 20,000lb tractor I think they will hold most of our trucks in a pulling situation. And if your worried about tweaking the frame put one on each side with a chain connecting them and hook to the chain which will pull both frame rails.

Well...from what I've seen...a chain does a lot better job of getting trucks unstuck. I've personally whitnessed countless occasions of the truck doing the pulling, get dragged back to the stuck vehicle after giving the strap a jerk.
A chain will apply a larger force than a strap. It's simple physics. Its like putting a spring between a hammer and a nail...you wouldnt do that would ya?
Plus, when a chain breaks, it usually doesnt fly around as much as a strap does. A strap can shatter windows, dent tailgaits, and decapitate people.
Example: The strap didnt do anything but pull the other truck backwards. So now, he is bringing out the chain. Jerking with the chain moved him about 1', whereas the strap did nothing. It later took a 4x4 tow truck with dual 15,000lb winches chained to a tree to get him out.

So are you saying if a chain breaks, you won't get any damage like that.
I've seen a back window break, dent and scratch the hell out of a tailgate, and rip bumpers off many atimes.
well, the main thing i see wrong with that picture is all the mud. when trying to unstuck something you want to be sitting somewhere you get traction, like on firm dry ground. if you start out in mud or wet slop, all you are going to do is spin your tires. and maybe get stuck too
As KO and others have stated, straps are way better for pulling out stuck vehicles, as you can take a run and jerk the vehicle without fubaring the 2 vehicles, if you're worried about the strap slingshoting on you, wrrap it with a weight, and actually a smaller lenght of chain work well, right in the center of the rope. Now in order for this to work properly you have to have a vehicle of similar weight, as a lighter weight truck will not have the momentum to pop the stuck vehicle out.
Now as per the pictures posted by ATC, well i can see a couple things, 1. that strap in the picture is not big enough for the weight of the stuck ford for the strap to work as its designed, it needs to be thicker and probably longer too.
