Stuck In The Mud

Im sure this has already been done, but I thought it might be neat to see some stuck Dentsides aAnd their accompaning stories.

This happened about a year ago when I was still in my Give her Heck stage. Me and one of my buddies decided to hit this mud hole on a county road where im from. We would take turns hitting the hole and pulling each other out. We finlly ended up breaking a chain, and my brother had to come with another to pull us out. Once he pulled us out, I thought it was only fair that he have shot of making it through. So he climbed in my camoflage truck and proceeded to romp his way through the pit. He just about to make it out when he slammed it in reverse and clogged up the tailpipes with mud. The truck went dead and when he tried to crank it back up. The starter broke!

So my friend in the silver ford came to pull me out. And As soon as he got the chain tight his truck decided to bust a u joint in his rear driveshaft.

My brother in his 3/4 ton chebby pulled the silver ford backwards to get the loosen the chain. As the ford tried to pull out with only his front axle, a u-jont in the front end gave up. So now the silver truck will crank and run, but can't move. The camoflage, could move, only under the stipulation that it could crank. We left them there over night and the next day called in the fellow in town who had a bad (shudder) chevrolet.

He needless to say had no problem pulling us out. And that was the end of that day.

Good times good times....lol. This could turn into a great thread of stories and pics. Anybody got anymore? I probably would have actually just left my truck there until I found a Ford to pull it out. Gettin pulled out by a chebby is horrible.

Getting pulled out by a chevy is ok as long as you still maintain deniability. The minute the cameras are busted out you lose that and all is lost, except for the shame.

only story i got about getting stuck was in my father's '92 Dodge Dakota club cab 4x4 with a 318 auto, (figure some other fellow Ford guys would want to laugh at this)

anyways, its got a fairly stock suspension with some extra leafs out back, anyways a few years ago we decided to go for a quick boot down some ATV trails, and end up actually crossing a stream (about 2-3 feet deep) anyways, we actually make it across and back! amazingly! lol lol and it didn't stall when wet! lol lol

but it was raining that week, and some of the trails where muddy, and we floored it across this mud puddle, well it turns out it was deeper than we thought! and there was a nice large rut in there, thus we ended up teetering on the large rut, no matter what the truck was barged, it would not teeter enough left or right, thus no wheels on either side got any traction! lol lol

lets just say we had every ATV try and pull us out, even had 3-4 on ropes pulling us! still no movement!

then a giant Chebby comes along (kinda like the one in the OP picture) except it was way taller! anyways, it gives it hell and still nothing, mind you the ATVs and the Chebby where on a dry surface, i was really hoping a big bad Ford would come along and answer our prayers!

then as a few hours go by, we end up getting a friend to bring over his huge Caterpillar front end loader! and bingo that monster got us unstuck fast! lol lol those things are quite handy and would be fun to drive down the trails! never ever get stuck! plus you can clear your way with the front loader!

anyways, that was the last time we ever went off road in that Dodge, many problems with that truck, and it still has some computer glitches, mind you my father did play the parts game, tossing parts at it, now i have him warmed over to my side completely with Ford trucks, and he can't stand his POS Dodge, mind you he is a mechanic!

anyways that's my tail, figure my fellow brothers and sisters would get a kick out of a stuck Dodge, sorry no pictures!

also i think some really good stories will come out of this thread, and sorry for not supplying a dentside story, maybe some day, once i get my beast finished!

and i can only imagine getting pulled out by a Chebby, i don't think i could allow that to happen! thus "giver heck when stuck" isn't always the best plan! things break when that happens, then Chebbys have to come pull you out! that sucks!

Heh... In my younger days, I got a '78 Chevy 2-wheel drive "Heavy Half" stuck in the mud out at once was a fun place to go party (people have since ruined it by turning it into part of a "greenbelt") - Had to have my dad come out in his '78 Dodge 4x4 to pull us out... He gave me hell for days after that...
