How do i check the float valve and make adjustmenst on a 1985 Motorcraft single barell carb for a 300 (stock carb... im not sure what the problem is ..
but my truck fumes black smoke out the exhaust at idle.. and runs like hell at low speeds... but is fine at high speeds.,. ..........also also where can i find a schematic diagram

 

Is that the electronically controlled carb? If it is, the problem is most likely the fuel metering solenoid. Also check the standard carb stuff, like the power valve, and make sure the O2s is plugged in, and that the throttle position sensor and map sensor are working.
