OK, I found the date casting 6F28 and looked long and hard at the block # and think it is really C6ME-A. I cant tell about the mounting holes. Are they on the crossmembers? And the date casting was the smaller 1 below the oil fillter.
I bet your right on the C6ME-A. The 6F28 is the date code of 66/June/28th. Also the block has the 4 bolt motor mounts. Most likely the 63 C3 intake was added at some point. The bad news that casting number is shared between 4 different bore blocks with a possible 7 plus combinations of CID. Most common bore blocks are the 352 at 4.00, the 360,390,410 at 4.05 and the 428 at 4.13. The crank stroke is easy enough to check. That can help nail it down leaving the cyl bore mystery until a head is removed. The 352 and 360 both share a 3.50" stroke. The 390 and 427 a 3.78" stroke. The 410 and 428 a 3.984" stroke. The 427 did not use a C6ME-A casting number so if you see a 3.78" stroke it's a 390 more than likely.
