Yes, I'm sure there is.
I just bought a 67 F-100 with a 352 and auto tranny. It's 2000 miles from me now so I'm not sure which tranny it is. But I bet it's a C6.
Yes there is, any C6 with an FE bolt pattern, available up until 76 in F-Series trucks. Easiest to find in the junk yards would most likely be a C6 from a 360/390 engine.
I believe there were other autos available, but in my opinion , the C6 is the best.
I guess you guys aren't that big on the FMX tranny's? Can I ask why?
I had one in my 76 F-250 w/ a 390 and loved it. I could run 69 MPH in first gear and up to 95 in 2nd, she got to hairy to find out her top in drive though. The only problem I had has when my brakes went out going down hill at 45MPH and the truck kept speeding up in 1st. Oh well got her stopped but the reverse trick didnt work either, just killed the engine
She would honestly do 69 in 1st gear. I found that out at a 1/4 mile race track in Cincinnati when I lived there. I thought it was crazy too so I raced again but this time I shifted manualy. I went from 1st to 2nd at 55, she lost all power so I slammed her back in 1st. A good friend told me after that run I pulled the front tires about 3" off the ground. By the way, I may still have the flat spot on the back of my head from hittin the rear window. I ran the 1/4 in 20 sec. at 69 MPH. My truck was a 76 F250 2wd Ranger, long bed, I believe it had a 2BC, and 33 Mudders in the rear, stock rear end(don't know the gear), 390, FMX. About 1 month later my friend bought the truck. That truck had ALOT of torque but almost no horsepower. I wish I could tell you what the RPM's where but I know that engine was screaming. In the transmission lobby a guy said I had something wrong with the trans for it to run like that. I don't know but she was reliable transportation. Jack
