the biggest difference in the van turbo is that vans don't have an intercooler so the turbo is set up different. they have more lag in a pickup cause they don't compensate for the intercooler.
Dang! And the worst part is you already sold your good turbo.
Is there any reason you cannot simply make another setup like you just got rid of?
Also, if I was ever going to get into pulling, I would not do it with a Ford. Don't get me wrong, I love my truck. But just going by the stats, how many Fords end up in the winner's circle at those events?
I bought it because it has the best body and suspension. Not because it has a reputation for having the strongest motor. Both my wife and I wanted to get a Dodge. We both liked the looks and I loved the sound and reputation of strength that the motor had. What turned me away from the Dodge is the bodyman next door to me telling me that the bodies are very cheaply made.
Plus you can spend 10% what you would spend on a Ford to get more power.
Ok the decision is made, the turbo comes back off! We are having a one of a kind built. It will use the same center section I have with a different compressor wheel & housing. We made some runs with it to get a base line. With this information all I'm told is it will be bad azz.
