Stacks would look cool, but all the cost and mods might lighten your wallet alot.
Check prices on a complete stack system(get a idea how much money it'll cost), and then see how much a dual exhaust w/ 12" or smaller glass packs would cost from a local exhaust shop. Do either one in your budget.
O.K. you want the '70s go find a set of cast aluminum Thrush side pipes.Mount those as stacks my friend had a set mounted that way on a '57 SORRY Chevy pick-up.Hey why not I have Yosimite Sam mudflaps and Slotted mags on my '78.Its a '70s truck there is no crime in '70s accesories.

Would I have to do alot of mods??? I would thank it would be pretty straight forward...... running the pipes from the headers to the bottom of the stacks...... I have done alot harder exhaust's......Like put a and built a (FART CAN) on my daughters b-freinds car made it all...... he is the only 1 in town with a 3" exhuast on a Toyota SR5 LOL And the COST for that 0 $ made it out of stuff I had left in the garage........
well the bends would be custom, and you would have to either cut holes in the bed(looks kinda weird, but is easy) or cut some holes in the sides of the cab, along with welding in custom patch panels to tuck those pipes alongside the cab. This is of course the hard way to do it, and with most hard ways, it looks better.

It is a stepside so I won't be cutting holes in the bed and I thank all I would have to do is drill some holes in the cab for the hangers/support brackets.......... right......
oh yeah, stepside. Whoops. My bad. Guess I shoulda read the original truck discription b4 shooting my mouth off. It'll be a lot easier with a stepside. The things should tuck right up by the cab. Sorry about that.
I prefer dual glasspacks myself. On the same note I say you should do what you like. If everyone did their trucks the same way it would be a dull world and FTE would have alot less traffic. I would advise you to either use flaps or do as someone else mentioned and put plugs at your lowest bend. I know you do not plan to drive in the rain but you have to plan for the worst. If you don't murphy will gain on you. I never planned to get caught in the rain on bikes but it has happened numerous times. Hope all goes well with your project.
