Calling all Stack owners!

I know I'm a 6er but this area is full of stackers.. I'm really close and I mean REALLY CLOSE to saying screw it and putting in 6" Miter Cut stacks.. My question, is a 6"x36" tall stack good for us? Is that going to put the tip a bit over my cab.. Also with Miter how does it do with the "smoke".. I'm not going to blanket my entire cab now am I?

I was thinking of just getting angle stacks turned out.. Also what about sound? How do they sound with them pointing straight up.. I guess it would be the same as I have with my 4" exhaust out the side?

TIA

Storm, the sound is awsome. The 6.0 will growl nicely. Yes, the 36" stacks will stick just above the cab. You have to take in to concideration the radius of the 4" 90* bend at the bottom. If you go with a 48" which is the next size up, they will be too tall. Personally I see no reason why you shouldn't do stacks on that cool azz truck you have. I promise you will like it. I think you should do them before the meet next month!!!!

i have 5 inch turnout stacks and the sounds with them when your at WOT is a little loud but cruising isnt bad bcuz i have mine turned out a little bit so they are straight back i think they were one of my best investments and definatley think that you should get some and the 36inchers are perfect they just peak above the top of the cab

Ok gang.. What do ya'll think looks best.. Check my gallery... Most of my look is Black/Silver/Chrome.. Should I add this Headache Rack to the works then put the stacks infront of it then my toolbox.. I dont think my gallery pics are updated but I have 36" Chrome Bed Rails that I can push back to make room..

The only advantage of this would be the ability to add more lights up top between the stacks or possibly mount my HAM Radio antenna's there..

Normally they go off the sides of my toolbox but I forsee that as an issue with stacks nearby lol..

Plus it would look pretty sweet if I put 4 more 6x9 KC's up on the top LOL

OR would it make my truck look too crazy... Maybe just the stacks against the back.. Then you wouldnt see my Smoke 3rd Brake light etc.. Hmm

What's ya'll opinion

Skip the headache rack, unless you need it( i.e. haulin a GN trailer and somethin might fly up) plus thos 6" and the tool bax are gonna take up a good bit of you bed(didn't check LB orSB) if its a SB then your box is gonna be back around the inner wheel humps) it is a LB then you will have a little more room .

I think the Headache rack would take away the look of the stacks

i have the same look..all black with lots of chrome and SS..i think the headache rack would be little too much with the stacks and the tool box..maybe a rack built into the stacks?? hmmm not sure about that one ether..but.. it is your truck..

Ya'll are right... The headache rack would seriously kill the look.. However I am going to build a custom cage out of square tubing and diamond plate for under the box and between it and the cab.. Basically I'm going to create a box with a lid behind my toolbox which will hold recovery chains and such so if they get muddy, they dont go in my toolbox with my tools.. Use the square tubing to strengthen it so that the diamond plate doesn't bust :-P

I agree with the other guys, Storm. The headache rack wouldn't go good with the stacks.

Hey Storm, Look up Rampage_F350's gallery, he made a nice cover to go over the area between the tool box and the back of the bed, to fill in between his stacks. A hinged lid could easily be included to store the recovery gear. just remeber how close you are to the rear window when grabbing those chains, so as not to shatter the glass.

do the six inch mitres just like you are planning. They look the best with nothing but stacks in the back in my opinion. Look at my gallery to see my light rack in the back. . . by buddy has the same light rack and stacks like you want. . . and I think its too much. Stacks and a tool box are as far as i would go. But they sounds sweet. let me tell ya.

If you had the access to this- i'd make or buy something like this-

get the 6" stacks, and make a mini- headache rack between the two pipes, but not behind or in front. Mount it to the toolbox or something (front of bed is flimsy) and make it even with the bottom of your brake light. square corners to accent the look of the stacks, keep it 4-6" away from the stacks though. Idea good, no?
