Ok all I had to put something on for now so I made my own exhaust from the old 1 and now have nothing but straight pipe from the headers to corners of the cab!! It is loud (not as loud with open headers!!) and I put crome tips on.... The people that live around me just LOVE me.....
don't feel bad, my truck is in progress, and i just cut off worst of old exhaust and clamped glasspacks on and they stop under the cab. Eventually it'll be duals out the stock location.
Ya I had to do something it was just a litlle to loud with just open headers(in the garage) ...... I am really leaning with the STACKS...... but not sure if I want to drill in to the cab.......
A Friend of mine put stacks on his 2006 f250 powerstroke, he mounted a headache rack to the bed and then clamped the stacks to it. you might beable to mount a flat strap to frontside of box and then run it to a clamp on the stack to keep from drilling into the cab.
A INDOOR truck is 1 that dosn't see rain, snow, sleet, freezen rain.ect........... and only see's the nice sunshine and in my case is SPOILED,Pampered ect...... Now this is only MY version hehe!!! Does this help????
hey, my truck is an indoor truck also. Only mine is in 11ty billion different pieces and probably won't be an "outdoor" truck for 10 years.
You got to start some where right!! LOL Let me ask you a (dumb) ? even know it is in pieces do you still pamper it??????? Maybe I am just wierd !!! It is like a 4th child to me and it is no SHOW winner or anything like that...... Yep I have finally lost it LOL.............
PS... The thing I love about it the most is IT dosen't yell at me!!!!!!!!!!! LOL
I like stacks think it looks good on some trucks step side are nice I prefer side pipes running down the side of my truck to the back wheels but I think it depends on the person either way go for what you want you will find alot of support here I have.
If done well, and proportional to the truck, stacks can look pretty good. For the flappers, go to any ag store or supply place, they are readily available there, just not chrome... I have however, seen many stacks that are just huge and look silly, and hack jobs that look crappy. Fleetside tends to look a bit worse, hard to get them to look good, but on a step side, they can look better.

Thank you fellro86 I will keep that in mind about the flappeys..... now however I have to go put a clutch in my 91 F150 not looking forward to it.... by my self.......
hey you don't "technically" need flappers if you don't like the look. You drill a hole and weld a nut on for a plug in the bottommost bend in the exhaust. The plug, which can be any bolt really, can be removed to drain the stacks of water. Do this periaodically and you're fine as far as water getting in. I personally like the look without flappers.
