My overdrive "off" light on the shifter is staying lit at all times???? My overdrive seems to be working and the button still works to shift in and out. What gives????? '01 excursion v10

It's not flashing is it? Doesn't sound like it.

I believe, around that model year, there were problems with wires breaking inside the multifunction switch in the column, but that usually blows the fuse. I've never heard of the light staying on all the time, but the broken-wire-thing might do that.

Otherwise, the output from the computer to light the OD light is shorted...

If you can't figure out what the problem is (broken wires) don't worry about it too much...

Guys? Anyone know what would cause this?

I pulled shroud off the steering column and wiggled the harness and also pulled the switch off the shifter and blew it out with air. All is well now. Thanks for the help!
