What is the correct procedure to adjust the throttle position sensor I installed on my 95-150 with a 302?
Throttle Position (TP) Sensor
Gasoline Engines
The throttle position sensor (TP sensor) (9B989) cannot be adjusted. The throttle position sensor must be replaced if servicing is required.
Description
The Throttle Position (TP) sensor is rotary potentiometer containing a rigid or flexible thick film resistive substrate and a moving wiper mounted on a rotor. The blade at the end of the throttle shaft drives the rotor tangs. As the TP sensor is rotated by the throttle shaft blade, the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) determines five operating modes from the TP signal:
* Closed throttle (idle or deceleration)
* Part throttle (cruise, moderate acceleration)
* Wide open throttle (maximum acceleration, de-choke on crank and A/C cutout)
* Throttle angle rate (for acceleration pump type function)
* Transmission shift schedule in E4OD transmissions
The PCM uses the sensor output and reacts to control spark advance, EGR flow, A/F path, A/C clutch WOT cutout and AIR airflow.
The TP sensor comes in either the integral connector or the pigtail connector styles.
