Brake adjust. what order

Bleed then adjust
Adjust then bleed
Doesn't make any difference

Just curious,

John, I adjust then bleed then check adjustment again. I use to be easier when I had a rack to do it.

I would adjust then
bleed Right rear then left rear then right front then left front .. That is how I have always done it . But their always other opinions .........Dude

And the reasoning is that you always start the farthest away from the master cylinder and work in sequence to the closest.

To me the adjustment would be the last step in the process.

Thanks! I was wondering why that order. It makes sense now. Now if I can remember that when I get to that point.

Adjustment needs to be close enough that you don't risk pushing the piston out of the wheel cylinder or attempts to bleed will end in great anguish and eternal gnashing of teeth. I choose to adjust, bleed in order, drive a bit and readjust as needed.
