Tie Rod End adjusting sleve..

Can there be any adjustments made with the tie rod adjusting sleve?

Yes, you use that to adjust the toe.


The adjuster sleeve on the drag link is used to center the steering wheel.


The arrow is pointing to the one on the drag link:


The one under the stabilizer shock is the one on the tie rod that is used to set toe during alignments.

Ok... so these will have nothing to do with slop in the steering.

Not unless the sleeve is loose, which would be very dangerous.

Worn drag link ends or tie rod ends could cause slop.

I found out today I have a bad tierod end on the "drag link"? Ford diagram refers to it as 3A131. Is 3A131, 3281 and 3A130 the entire drag link assembly? Im trying to figure out what the corresponding part number is at MOOG.

The alignment tech told me he could not straighten the steering wheel and align the truck without the tie rod end being replaced. Nice guy. Makes sense...just need to know which part to order.
