390 intake swap

Talking 390 intake swap

ok. here's the scenario, 1969 fe 390 with a 2bbl manifold with an adapter to a 4bbl holley 600cfm single pumper. when i bought the truck it had a 4 bbl manifold in the bed of the truck. I am wanting to swap to the 4 bbl. I know to empty the coolant pull the valv covers off, remove the distributor the upper radiator hose and all the coolant attachments and vacuum lines. Am I missing anything? I plan to replace the intake manifold gaskets and the valve cover gaskets, also all the necessary carb gaskets. Any suggestions? warnings? Ideas? I'm trying to go for max horsepower from what i have laying around. Right now I think the 4bbl carb into the 2bbl manifold is strangling it for air because when i get on the gas it sputters and falls flat on its face and then slams me to the back of the cab. I know there should be more power with the 4bbl man and carb. Also should I change fuel pumps? it has the stock 2bbl pump for the in-cab tank and it has a canister fuel filter. Also the intake appears to have a very minimal amount of rust inside of it(4bbl) should this be a problem if i blow it clean with pressurized air or should i have it silicon blasted? Any comments, Ideas, thoughts, or concerns are welcome. The reason I'm doing this is because I have a race date with 74 camaro w/a 350 and I wanna make sure he never forgets my ford. Lastly are there any axles that i could swap out with minimal work that will fit my truck(69 ford 2wd) I wanna make sure I'm getting the max from that 390. thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here ya go , you can use a shoe box to put yout pushrods and bolts in lable it like your motor, that way you will get them in the right spot on reasembly.
