My way works

My way of wiring makes the spark weak but it still fires the plugs. I think the spark works well but I need to put on a manual choke to make the flames bigger and hotter!

In this area there is a club called "Keepers of the Flame", to be in this club you must have FLAME THROWERS. These people always have a crowd around them at shows. The exhaust flames look so awsome Ihave been thinking about trying to use small injectors to do this on a cat equiped truck.

The relay buzzes when wired this way. The buzzing cycles the coil and makes endless blue sparks
carefull this basic design will make a stun gun and does hurt if the coil discharges into you. trust me here it's like 30000 volts and it can jump a gap over an inch or more.

The vibrating relay will eat its self up in short time, better to have a transistor controlled unit or one with a 555 timer like the one 1Short posted back in 3-7-02. 1Short's design fires a Motorcraft electronic ignition module, a cheap Pick-N-Pull item. Get a green box from a 74-76 Ford truck pt# FF401 for the hottest spark or Kragen for a Niehoff unit $45.99, add 2 resistors, 1 555 timer, capacitor and a coil for one pipe or two sets for your dual exhaust.

keg...(noun)...crunchy on the outside, yummy on the inside.

I wired up a simple system last night and made it work. Pretty neat stuff. I wired the extra coil in parallel with the factory coil, drilled a hole in the tailpipe and placed a plug in it. It wouldn't light, despite a good spark. So I had to do a manual choke with my hand (the car is a 1985 mustang GT with an automatic choke) while reving the engine, it lit up quite nicely!

I don't think I will have the flamethrower installed on this car, the back bumper is plastic!!!!

A old Harley coil works for a simple installation, single primary with dual secondary for them twice piped exhausts. Propane with nitrous injectors to prevent engine wear.
