2000 350 diesel- all auto door locks do not work- mechanic says all need to be replaced. This seems strange- Cruise control failed too. Rear axle seals failed and ruined brake pads-new shocks needed. Rear axle replace 3 times - vehicle has 62000 miles
You mean to say the seal on the axle leaked out all the oil and it destroyed 3 different axles?!?!?! I want to know who installed the seals/axles. If its the same guy over and over ide say thats your problem.
Did you check all your fuses? Was anything recently done to your truck prior to having problems with locks/cruise?
I'm having a similar problem with my door locks but not the cruise. My locks act like they want to go up and down when I hit the button but the just sit there and twitch. If I hit the button enough times then my passenger side will lock/unlock but the drivers side just twitches. Also I have a beeping that goes on for 5 sets of 5 beeps and the quits. There isn't an idiot light on but I have noticed that the interior light, reverse lights, driving lights (in the bumper), and of course the door locks don't work. Is there a fuse that could controll most of these or do you think something else is wrong?
My firends 2002 F350 had a similiar problem with the door locks and had to replace all of the actuators. Luckily he had the extended warranty so it was covered by Ford. Is this a common problem? I just bought my 2000 F350 but just figured his was a freak incident?

My door locks do the exact same thing. As far as the cruise control someone mentioned. They recalled the cruise control on 1998 through 2000 Ford Expeditions and I know the F-250's and pretty sure the 350's because some of them were catching on fire. You might want to go to year dealer and get that fixed cause if that is related they have to do it for free.
I changed out my front pass. side the other day. Actuator was $70.00 from the stealership. It took me 45 minutes and that was removing the lock assembly, now that I know how the actuator is attached you don't have to remove the whole assembly. Its worth doing it your self, just be patient.
