Hi All:
I am new to the forum and I see lots of questions on power door lock problems. I have had actuators replaced on the drivers side and now another problem has come up on the passenger side. This time however all passenger and rear door locks fail to work at the same time. I can drive the vehicle and suddenly they will all start to work. As soon as I can get the passenger door to unlock, all passenger side doors and rear cargo door locks begin to work. All the while the drivers door locks are fine. Any suggestions??
If you're the primary driver, and those other doors don't see much use, they often will benefit from being operated on a regular basis. Likewise, I run mine in 4WD at least once per week, and operate the air conditioner compressor weekly (via defroster mode) in the winter just to keep the seals wet. Mechanical things don't like sitting idle too awful long, but I agree that the X door locks have been problematic.
Thanks for your suggestions and the welcome to the group. Unfortunately the locks get used quite a lot as my wife drives the Excursion and we have 5 children. I am thinking it may be a relay rather than an actuator since all the locks quit at the same time. I just don't know if that is possible or not. I hate to take it to the dealer.
