ya fellas i was wonderin if there is such a thing a hi rise heads for a 390? thanks

No, but if you install them on a 4.05" bore valves will hit the cylinder walls, they are spaced farther apart as they are larger valves.

I think Barry has Blue Thunder heads that might work. They're listed as "High Riser small bore quench chamber." I dont know in what context "small bore" is over there though.

Means 428 valve spacing. Those are actually proven better in testing than the "large bore" 427 valve spacing. I don't know about 390 bore clearance though - could still be a pretty big issue with any decent size valve - we use 2.200 intake and 1.65 exhaust - - not too big really. I'll have to try some on sometime to see what happens - might be OK on say a .060 over deal???? Or notch the bores like a 351C???

Please do test fit it and see what happens. If it works, I may be interested in a set for my 390 at some point down the road.

How do those high riser BT heads flow, anyway?

The high risers are good for at least another 20 cfm so far. If I had a legal cast high riser intake I'd have run them in Engine Masters. As is I'm gonna find a way to make them work next year - - a legal, though perhaps maybe slipperly way....
