Hey guys, I just wanted to say that I finally got around to taking some of the suggestions to heart on getting my 352 to come alive a little bit! I had an original set up from the leaky old Ford 2-barrel carb to the restrictive exhaust. The old carb started all the deal with the way it was leaking around the throttle shaft. This is a 66 F100 by the way. I got my hands on a 4-barrel intake from a 68 torino 427! It still has that old school look! Bought a new list 1650 Holley, with a one inch spacer, Ebayed some Hedman headers, also a pair of flowmasters with the H pipe that a freind of mine had around and gave me a sweet deal on! In one word, WOW!!! I do not have any hard numbers on this set up but what a difference! It feels like 25-30 percent more horepower!!. I also polished the ports of the intake but never touched the heads. I rebuilt this engine with a standard kit about 18 months ago and had to grind only one valve at the time so you see the rest of it is pretty much stock. The truck has always been fun to drive but this definately kicked it up a notch!
Good thing gas is so cheap!
Thanks for all the ideas over the years guys, glad I could finally try them!
352, stock four barrel intake, Headman headers, 600 cfm vacumm secondary Holley, I also installed a Duraspark ignition system and 3" stainless steel exhaust.
Mine is in a 65 F100 long box.
I love the way mine runs and like you it is a kick to drive.
I have also been playing with jetting and exceleration pump cams. I have played with the timming a bit but need a new vacuum advance module before I get it dialed in completely.
I believe if it was not for this site and everyones help it wouldn't be running this good.
