My take, you GET flutter when you change the y-pipe whether it is Stan's or Flowmaster. As far as the CAUSE, I think it is the exhaust manifold itself. If fordboy2 goes ahead with his Gibson headers and Stan's y-pipe, that should answer the question.
Didn't the early stock y-piped trucks have flutter? Ford changed to the "T" style to stop flutter?
I think "flutter" is always there but the Y-pipe design can either muffle or accentuate it.
On mine, it is noticable if you really WANT to listen for it but it isn't "fluttering" all the time. You really have to know what you're listening for.
