The SPD y-pipe replaces the bad portion of the y-pipe. You can have one fabbed up but I wouldn't go that route unless the fabbed y-pipe uses mandrel bent tubing.
I saw a "Y" pipe yesterday in my local speed shop, dunno the brand, but it was something popular. It was like $40 or so. Looked like the EXACT same thing as the ebay y-pipe, minus the bend to pick up the primary pipe that goes in at a 90 degree angle. Some other "off the shelf" parts from that place, and I would have had an ebay y-pipe.
It's much more of a Y then the way it came from ford. Just changing the ypipe and the diablo programmer and now I punch the gas with my little 5.4 and it gets wheel hop. Befor the small mods I don't think it would spin the tires in the rain.
