I bought a 2006 F150 screwXLT started with 15.0 adv getting 18.1 now have 2000 miles on it but i am easy on pedal. Now if i can get my dealer to fix the vib in the tires I will be ok. For anyone who has a 2006 Lariet or XLT SCREW do you feel every bump in the road . Man is my suspension tight. Nothing like riding in a $35,000 tank. Would like to know how if some of you have the same ride. It seems Ford sure screwed up when they changed the body style since 2004 until 2006. I had a 2000 Flare side work truck that rode like a car now I have a truck that rides like a truck or a tank. Dealer still working on it but not much hope. Was told Ford knows of the problems with 04-06 models but they do not know what is causing it or how to fix the problem. Funny that the dealer does not lrt you know they have problems when you but it only after you have bought it do they say oh yea we are having problems with that. Imagine that
Hey DW, check out my thread in this forum. You're not the only one with a bumpy ride.
I was so tempted to get one, huge roush racing fan, and like the rims, but I needed a super crew with 5.4 and 3.73 for towing, so I found mine at McFarland Ford in Exter. I'm in Epping. Got a great deal on a Lariat.....
Hello...my first time here. I can't help but notice a familiar "name"...AzDesertRat...are you the same "AZ" on the ASA bbs?
For the record, I am a loooong time Ford driver...since the mid 50's. I curently own a 2004 F150 FX4 5.4 Scab...grey with black leather power everything. My kids got me a FlowMaster cat back for Xmas (after I told them what I wanted...LOL) and it sounds great. Mileage? About 13 arounfd town...17 or so freeway, but I ain't really trying! I am going to install an Airaid kit, a Truxedo tonneau, and if I can slip it past my wife, a Hypertech.
More to follow as time goes by...!!!
INSTEAD OF THE HYPERTECH, GET THE EDGE EVOLUTION.....I PROMISE YOU WILL NOT BE DISSAPOINTED, PLUS YOU GET TO LOOK AT IT EVERY DAY VS INSTALLING AND STORING.

Anyway, just wanted to say nice ride!
I was looking at a Lariat Supercrew until I drove a new Supercab. Has a lot more room than my '03 Supercab. That and I didn't want to wait for a Supercrew with the 6.5 ft. bed. I got a supersweet deal on an '06 Supercab with the Roush Pkg. It's an XLT with the 5.4 towing pkg, etc. The ride isn't the greatest, but it is super quiet inside. After looking at Tire Rack and finding the tires they put on these trucks rate 84th worst out of 87, I may be trading up, and maybe the ride will improve. As far as the speedo, underhood has a Roush recalibration sticker, and the d/s rear door has a sticker for the the replacement tire size. Hope this doesn't become an issue when I want to put winter tires and rims on it, as I will not be rolling on 20"s when the snow flies.
Does the Edge provide a "regular" gas tuneup? I can't see running premium if I can get 15-20 more hp on regular. I figure that the catback and the Airaid can only help whatever tuner I end up getting. Anyone have any input or experience with this type of setup?
I bought a 4.6 with 3.55 rear end thinking it would get pretty good mileage here in
Central Florida since everything is pretty flat. However, I have found that with my driving to in from work in traffic I only get around 14.5. When I take a longer trip
where I'm cruising around 75..ish for a couple of hours on end I'm getting around 18.5.
Added a K&N air filter, and really didn't notice any improvement. Got a bed Extang bed cover, and noticed a very small improvement.
I think if I had it to do over, I would have gotten the 5.4. More power and about the same mileage.
