my next 400 will be stroked for sure...since I do propane...not seeing EFI in future. I need to ck out jopes stuff now but (and i'll stick my foot securely in mouth) you can get so much out of these motors with simple mods like flattop,roller rocker, 4v etc that you would have to be way serious to go efi- especially over a retro roller cam. Thats why i think it's more important to find out whats in the beast and mod it's internals before you slap it in ...if need be- efi can come in whenever.
and i'd argue about efi always being the king...my dad is one of many who could never get it to run right on a rtro build '72 460 in a 79 150. man that thing screams with a holley...sometimes efi is a major pain ifn you you arn't an expert at it. IMHO...of course!!!
