Which one do you all recommend? I just bought a trailer (16ft gooser) and I am going to haul around 5 ton with it. Want to make sure I get a really good one.

Tekonsha Prodigy. Go to etrailer.com/faq/brakecontrol.asp (admin note: cut out the game with masking urls and just post them correctly saving all of us time and work)

Has been talked about many times in the towing forum, general consensus there is the Prodigy is the one to get.
I did not mount it like that. I mounted it to the under dash guage pod. Therer was just enough room to get the screws to bite. It looks pretty slick and the screws are about a inch and a half back from the guages.
i mounted my prodigy on the left by the door... i was worried about putting it in the cubby... i like for electrcal stuff to have plenty of air moving around it... i have bumped it with my knee once or twice climbing in or out of my truck, but that unit is really rugged... no problems at all... i like having it there because i can see it real well, and if i ever needed to get my hand on that manual lever i could reach it real easy...
That's a good point about having your electronics ventilated. I'm going to pull the whole cover and cut some holes above and below the Prodigy with a hole saw and reinstall.
