I installed my Prodigy electric trailer brake controller into my 2006 SD this weekend. The Prodigy fits almost perfectly in the small cubby compartment that Ford provides instead of the factory brake controller. I just made about a 3/4" x 3/4" hole in the back of the compartment for the wiring and connector. To me, this install looks better than hanging under the dash board.
As long as you can activate the manual override in an emergency.
You can,
I installed a Tekonsha Primus IQ in my old 2000 F250 in that cubby & it worked great
Now that i have a oem Brake Controller in the 2006 i dont think i could go back to a A/M unit though, the oem works so smoothly....
Your right though Stevie it looks way better
