I use Standard or Vavoline, as long as it say Mercon.. and not mercon V.. Any oil rated mercon should be OK.. Be sure to remove the oil from your converter.. someone on here can tell you the method if you don't know.. I am lucky.. I have a drain plug. They stop putting in the drain plugs in converters after Aug 2001 mfg date..

if you are asking me PSnut i am not quite sure what i paid, i think i paid something around 2.50 a quart, that is in canadian funds of course, and the penzziol i used was mercon/dexron-III.

i am pretty sure if it is mercon/dexronIII it will be compatible with just mercon, but if i am wrong someone please step in and correct me.

I use the Pennzoil Dex III/Mercon in my truck - it's the only thing I have used so far. Wishing I went with Mobil, or at least stocked up with some, before they changed to the dual rating.....

I bought it for 9 bucks a gallon. And it does say on the bottle that it can be mixed with any mercon. So I guess that it is mercon compatible.
