Brake Control Mounting

Where have you guys been mounting your trailer brake control? There aren't any really good spots to keep it out of the way that I can see. The PO of my truck put it in the cubby hole in the dash with sticky tape and it drives me crazy having it like that.

I had mine mounted on the bottom of my CB radio and now it is mounted above the throttle pedal on the access cover. I have to look around the steering wheel to see it, but if I need to manually use the controller it is easy to reach.

For those going below the cubby are you drilling holes to mount the bracket or using velcro or other means of fastening it to the dash?

I was concerned about that at first, but I have enough wire to set the panel on the tranny hump. Or just remove the thumb screws on the side of the controller if I need to take the panel all the way out.

Just be sure to have it where you can hit that "stop" button when you quickly need to.

This is where mine is as well, except I turned mine upside down to it would sit closer to the dash. Make sure you read the mounting requirements, some of the inertia activated ones have to be mounted within a few degreas of horizonatal.

The only non-stock brake controllers I have seen were mounted on the hump. My old man's 06 has one stock where the cubby is on the 99-03 trucks. It's pretty convenient when you're reaching for it quickly.
