NUT- I found it. It is a 3/16' allen. But I cannot get it to move. Think I should try a "shock blow" to see if I can get it free? I don't know what type of material this is made of. I don't think it's brass, could be a cast of some sort.

I think the reservoir is aluminum. Mine was very tight the first time I removed it too.

When you turn the key on, can you hear the fuel pump running prior to the start atempt?

Yep. That's the noise.

Was the reservoir full? I think that puts you back to the cam sensor if it is.

I'll try to get that screw off of the top of the HPOP right now, again. Can't beleive its the cam sensor. Had just replaced that 10 mos. ago. And if it was the cam sensor, it should still fire at least once today. I don't know, I'm not a mechanic, I'm a construction superentendant for a large co. out here in central NY. If the PSD is down, so is my projects. You know what I'm talking about? I'll give that nut another try, and let you know.

How much fuel do you have in the tank? Another no cost quick check since you can hear the pump running is to open your drain valve on the fil/sep reservoir and make sure fuel is present. If it is, have someone cycle the key while you do it again and look for increased flow. Or simply do the lid removal thing, messy if you cycle the key, but shows if the bowl is full for sure if not cycling the key. Make sure you have fuel in all the right places b4 chasing electrical gremlins.

TENN- Had just put $105 in the tank Fri. before coming home. So I'm full. I have drained the fuel res. to see if I have anyH2O in the bowl, put everthing looks good. The filter was changed about 10,000 mi. ago. I have not tried to cycle the motor while valve being open.

Cookie-I've tried again to get that Damn screw of the top of the HPOP and have twisted my 3/16" allen wrench around, no go.

Well don't strip the head out. I'd hate for you to have to get a machinist to get it out.

Even if the reservoir wasn't full, after enough cranking the low pressure pump would fill it enough to support injection, so for the moment I think it's ok to assume there is enough oil in there.

How about that cam sensor...do you have a spare you can stick in there?

No buddy I don't. Going to have to wait till tomorrow. I have to walk away from it now, I'm about to put 10 rounds of my 10mm into it. You really think it's the cam sensor?

IPR(injector pressure regulator)

Another possibilty is the IPR. If it goes open circuit it will cause a no-start.

The Injection Pressure Regulator controls injection oil pressure. An electrical signal to a solenoid creates a magnetic field which applies a variable force on a valve servo to control pressure. The quantity of fuel delivered to the combustion chamber is proportional to injection control pressure.
An open circuit will result in minimum oil pressure and a no-start situation. A short circuit results in maximum oil pressure, and is limited by a mechanical pop-off valve to 27,580 kPa (4000 psi).

It's located in the back of the HPOP under a harness going to the oil temp sensor located in the resevoir.
