I was going to look it up to see what it was but fliping through lmc I seen one, now tell me what does it do ? cause the line that is on mine that runs to the carb aint very good. I was fooling with it and it feel off, I was going to get some hose and replace it, I wanted to knwo if it had anything to do with the shifting of the truck cause it seems to not shift like it should.
on the same note, at what MPH does your inline 300 auto truck shift at?
The modulator valve shifts the trany. It works off of vacume when they go bad tranny fluid will get sucked up into the line.
oh ok, so it would be inportant that that line be a snug fit on both ends, tranny end and carb end,. its pretty mycn barly one right now. Think I will try to fix it.
The modulator is used instead of linkage to the carburator to regulate what is
referred to as throttle or TV pressure. This and the govenor control
control the shift points (up and down). No doubt used because it
is easier and cheaer than linkage. Put new vaccuum hose on it if it
needs it.
