Hopefully the brain is in the drivers head, otherwise there are gonna be some BIG problems if you know what I mean. HAW HAW HAW

well i did not know the ign module on the dizzy was actually the brain on an 89 I6 5spd 4x4.and after installing a new dist in and out resetting the timing 5 or six times and not having any fire still , replaced the coil and went threw 3 other ign modules my truck has finally fired up.hoorah. it still is not in time exactly but its running. however there is a second fuel filter behind the high pressure fuel pump that is leaking fuel. i took it off put another filter inside it and havn't been able to get it to seal up ..anyway just updating my post incase anyone else runs into this problem..

only one fuel fiter on this truck.

when you said 'brain' i thought you meant the computer.

why is truck out of time?

you do know you have to remove spout whe/if you do time the engine.

brain location?

quicklook i did mean computer. ive replaced both fuel filters, starter soelneoid, both eec relays, distributor, battery ign module, coil plugs , and wires. finally got it to fire up yesterday but it idled rough. advanced the timing and retard it also. truck would not run over three minutes and then stall.then go back to like it wasn,t firing, then the battery would act like it was just dead even with jumper cables on it from another vehicle.when i set the timing however i have not disconnected the spout though.is that one of the eec relays.

you need to disconnect it to time vehicle.

do a search on it.

it is a grey plug, mine is below brake booster, a little closer to distributer.
