speedometer stuck

I have a 95' f150. I was driving and all guages went crazy, the speedometer pegged and stayed at 80mph, the battery guage dropped to nothing and the odometer went blank. Then the engine quit. The battery and altenator were bad. I replaced them and the truck is running fine other than the speedometer is still pegged at 80 mph and won't move. How can I fix this.

Disassemble the dash and reset the needle to zero. It sounds like it might be stuck. If that doesn't fix it, replace the PSOM. Theres a procedure for this in Tech Articles.

Did you try hitting the top of the dash? I had this sort of problem with a lebarron or something, beat the ever loving $#!+ out of the top of the dash, and it finally worked. Also worked when the head light switch was going out on my bro-in-law's truck...

LMAO - Reminds me of the car I just had totalled. The blower would quit until you rapped on the dash with a heavy rubber mallot. (I got tired of using my fist
